Five Friday Runfessions- October 2016

Hello world!! It's runfession time, which means it's Friday and we are done with October!

Today I'm spreading the love and double dipping my link ups, Linking up with Marcia for October Runfessions and with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness for the Friday Five 2.0.

1. I runfess that I have been ignoring some pains in my latest training. My quad has been tingling after speed workouts and it has not really gone away. I'm focusing on squats and weight training, because I can't figure out why the pain there.

2. I Runfess that I miss running 5Ks. I know it sounds weird, but last year I was getting pretty good at 5Ks... this year I've only done 3.

I am trying to not make all my runfessions about food, because I don't want to look like I have issues eating...

3. I runfess that I had a goal number of races this year, and to make it, I would have to race every weekend until the end of the year. I also runfess tha I'm ok with not meeting that goal.

4. As the weather gets colder and the days shorter, I runfess that I don't have the motivation to run in the mornings. I don't know how other awesome runners do it.

5. My only food runfession... I'm buying a bag of Cheetos puffs this weekend! I haven't had Cheeto puffs since Februay !

What do you have to runfess this month?
When was the last time you had Cheeto puffs?
What motivates you to be awesome and run early in the morning?

  1. LOL, I am not a fan of any kind of Cheetos but I saw some Halloween themed ones at target - purple and green? I'm struggling with running in the dark mornings and it's not even cold yet.

  2. Oh man, a friend brought over a bag of cheetos for a movie night we had a couple weeks ago and left the bag! I had to throw it away to prevent myself from eating the whole giant bag.

    1. It is the worst that they only sell the cheeto puffs in Giant bags!!

good for you to get rid of the temptation!

  3. I love junk food! Just in the last month or so I make sure I eat a tonne of veggies during the day before I eat junk food, and then I feel not so gross.

    1. Good idea Marcia!

I love that you would not turn down any Cheetos!

  5. I run early because it's my "me" time and I haaaaaave to have that time to get me motivated for the day! Plus I am way too tired to do it after work! Don't beat yourself up. Run when it works for you! Oh my gosh I am glad you are okay w/ not racing every weekend haha. Sorry about your quad. Lay off the speed until it goes away. HAPPY FRIDAY!!

    1. Thank you! I know it must take a lot of determination, and early on the mornings, I just don't have it. I admire those of you who do!

Thanks for the advice! Can we say Happy Monday?

  6. I love Cheetos puffs!!!! I admit that I switch to the treadmill a lot during the wintertime when I want to run. My tolerance for the cold and darkness gets weaker and weaker every year. I wish your quads a speedy recovery!

  8. Love some Cheeto puffs...not the part where they get all stuck in your teeth though! ;) I too struggle with the time change and cold/dark mornings...rather stay in my warm cozy bed. Think I'll go find some chips to snack on now! :)

    1. Yes! I forgot about that part, until I ate them! But they were so tasty!

warm comfy beds are the best!

I ignore my aches and pains all the time!

  10. I do not like Cheetos but my sister is a fan. I'm with ya with not running in the morning. I hate running when it is cold and dark out.

    1. Running in the dark is no fun at all! Cheetos are awesome!!

  11. I love running early in the morning but the zero dark thirty hours are not much fun. We changed the clocks back in France this weekend, so now it is light at 7:30, which is early here !
I had a goal race number too, but it went out the window early in the year. I am OK with that because 2 marathons took priority ! Hope your quad feels better soon.

    1. You already changed the clocks there? How awesome!

Marathons taking priority make up for any other races, the distance alone covers it!

      Thank you Karen!

  12. I really admire how much you run before work!!

I am hoping with lots of stretching and icing, it will go away soon. Thanks Karen!

  13. I've been ignoring and running through some pain too. I just don't want to rest the amount of time it will take for it to go totally away, so I'm hoping that ignoring it works?!

5ks are awesome - it's not weird to miss them! Now that I'm running them again I remember how much I love them!
