Still Recovering ? or Just Being Lazy?

I had a very slow week, and ate so much junk, and I feel gross. I started out this post complaining and whining that I hadn't run much, that I ate terribly, and that I was just aching to go do another race... but then I realized that the only one who can change all of those complaints is ME. So, off to better things.

I did zumba and weights Monday. The rest of the week I was really tired and had very little time to do anything else.

But we did have such a great time this week, that I will post about that instead.

We went to see Captain America on Friday and after we went to the Lebanese Restaurant, and got lucky! There was going to be a belly dancer doing a performance! She was really good, made me jealous that I can't belly dance!

Brother #2 graduated from Penn State this weekend! And we were off to PSU Saturday Morning, but not before a tiny bit of drama...

I moved in with Roger back in October, but my Dad had never come to visit us... my family doesn't come to visit us much at all. Saturday it was the first time he had come over, and he refused to come into our apartment. Just refused. My little sister tried to make it a big deal, saying that it was very rude of him, and that he was being mean. She was very mad at him. I was very tired, it was only 8:30 am, and we had a very long day ahead of us. So I chose the most adult thing to do, I said Good Morning to my dad, told him that we were changing my son's clothes, and we will be on our way soon. Then I Let it go!

I love driving up to Penn State, the drive can be long, but the views of the mountains and trees were amazing.

I love visiting Penn State, it feels like home! The campus keeps changing, but most of the places that I frequented are still there.

We wore our walking shoes to explore campus.

Then we had a family photo-shoot. We are so rarely all dressed so nicely, that we have to take full advantage of the occasions.

The graduation ceremony was really moving. It was short, and intimate, My mom and I both had tears in our eyes after the ceremony.

The proud Graduate

Then we headed for the Lion for pictures with the graduate. Our family has one superstition, nobody is allowed a picture with the Lion until they graduate from PSU (or another school), because getting a picture with the lion is bad luck. So the kids, and my other brother were not allowed a picture with the Lion.

My son was taking the pictures and they came out very blurry.. sorry! I'll replace them later.

We had dinner and headed back home after a super family fun day!

Sunday I woke up to flowers, donuts, coffee and hugs from my son.

We then headed out to visit my mom.

  3. Awww, huge congratulations to your brother on graduating from Penn State! I love the pictures with the Nittany Lion. My husband (also a proud PSU alum) has similar pics. I am sorry you had to deal with the family drama, but you handled it very well and took it all in stride! Belly dancing is no joke, I agree! My body is not capable of moving in those ways, LOL. Recovery is super important and easy to overlook, so I am glad you are taking the time you need!

  7. Thank you Karen, I agree with you. Roger makes me happy, and the way I see it, as long as that's the case, dad will come around.

  11. You know some weeks are like that in the active part. But you had it right in the beginning, you are the only one who can change that.
A new week is starting so thankfully we can start over.
