A Week Of Busy Days May 22-May 29th

I hope everybody had a relaxing and safe holiday! Last week was very busy for me, not a lot of training, but busy non stop either day.

Training :
Tuesday - 2 miles
Wednesday- Zumba, weights

Monday was so busy that I don't remember most of it. My son was supposed to have Field Day, but it was postponed due to the weather forecast calling for rain. I don't remember if it rained.

On Tuesday I woke up with a sore throat, and itchy nose. It made me mad. I didn't want to be sick!

My son had a baseball game that afternoon, we are winding down to the last few games, and it is really cool to see how much the kids have learned in the last two months.

After the game, I did a quick, and slow 2 miles in the local track. It was very hot!

I made an impromptu quick dinner that I'm calling naked Nachos.... Refried beans, topped with steak, pico de gallo, cheese and avocado. I ate it with chips, it was very good!

On Wednesday, I woke up very congested and kept blowing my nose the entire day. After work I went to Zumba... it was very unusual,  a lot of slow songs, but it got done. I say unusual, because Denise normally has a lot of fast and high energy songs, but this time she had 2 or 3 of her favorite motivational songs.... something like "Girl Power" type songs. I don't know any of the names of the songs, but I do know that they are not my favorites.

I did weights with Roger when I got back.

On Thursday I went back to my son's school to help out with the Science Camp Day. It was fun to follow my kid around doing pretend detective work!

My son dancing during a "Brain Break"

In the afternoon, we went to another baseball game. This was normally a practice day, but they were making up games because of cancellations. The team only had 7 kids! and because of how well they were playing, my son got to bat TWICE in one inning! he was very excited!

My son Pitching

During the game my left eye was very irritated, I thought it was all the dust from the field, but when I got to the car, I saw that my eye had an ulcer!! I hate eye ulcers!! I got very stressed out about this, because this meant an emergency visit to the eye doctor, super expensive eye drops, and wearing my glasses for at least 2 weeks.

Friday we had an early breakfast at our favorite place, Sofia's! they have the best pancakes! Then my son and I were off to school!

We had the First Grade Picnic. It was very hot, and it was barely 10 am, but we went outside for the planned activities. I helped with the Pass The Hoola Hoop game.

Went to the Eye doctor, got my drops, and super fancy over the glasses dark glasses... I hate them!

My son had another make up game, which got cancelled by the second inning, because of a storm. We all got soaked!

Roger and I headed to Rehoboth DE, I'll do another post on Rehoboth this week, we had a lot of fun and got to walk around a lot!

And I ran a Memorial Day 5K.... but I don't know if that belongs here or in the next weekly wrap...

Today I'm linking up with Holly and Tricia for their Weekly Wrap post.

Very slow week... but I'm getting back on track with training for the Bird In Hand Half Marathon in September.

Miles - 2
Zumba - 1 hour
Weights- 25 minutes

How was your holiday weekend? Do you wear glasses/ contacts? School is almost done!! 3.5 days... and one of them is the field day!

Quick question for all the teachers... what is your favorite End Of school year gift? I'm looking for what to give my son's teacher... and I've been so busy, that I'm thinking Starbucks Gift card.

  1. Wow you were busy! I did not feel 100% last week either! I hope it is gone.

You cannot go wrong with a gift card! If I get a gift card, it is normally from Starbucks- which is not a place I go often BUT they come in really handy for vacations! Whether it's the airport or rest stop on the turnpike, it is always exciting to have a Starbucks gift card to treat myself with!

    1. Thank you Megan! Starbucks it will be! I once saw a mom give a teacher a big framed picture of her daughter, along with some macaroni art... And thought to myself that I could never give a teacher a gift like that.

Are you feeling better? My throat is better, but my nose is still
      Runny.

  5. I hope your eye is much better already. I do wear contacts (40 years) and have had an ulcer in my eye before. No fun! I love to watch the little kids play baseball. All of my sons played at some point in their childhood. I do a similar thing with chicken nachos. I use the black beans for my bottom later instead of chips and eat the pile with a fork. I'm looking forward to reading about your 5k! Thanks for linking with us Ana!

    1. Do you use any drops Lisa? I was just talking my eye doctor about eye drops for allergies, since this spring my eyes have been very irritated.

It was a bust week, but working on finding my motivation again.

  7. I too had the best pancakes this past weekend at a local place called the Buttercup. It was a cute lil yellow house and I had my mind made up for my breakfast choice. That was until I saw the pancakes! Oh my they were just as good as they looked!
You can choose whenever and whatever you want to include in your WW post. :) I'm just glad you're here!

  8. I've worn glasses and contacts for most of my life. I've actually never had an eye ulcer, but it sounds painful. Hope your eye feels better soon! As a teacher, I appreciate any and all gifts from my students, but you really can't go wrong with a gift card. I think the Starbucks card sounds like a great idea!
