Weekly Wrap: VB RnR and BIH Training Weekly Wrap #10

Good Morning world! How is everybody today? I hope you had an awesome weekend!

I'm linking up with Holly and Tricia for the Weekly Wrap post.

School is one week away from starting, my kid is done with summer camp and enjoying some well deserved spoiling quality time with his Tia and Unkie... aka, Sister #3 and Brother #2. I will be spending my day with him tomorrow, and I'm excited to make pancakes and sleep in... I haven't slept past 6:30 am in two weeks!

Anyway, here is some training numbers

Monday : Zumba, and Hill training ( 3 miles )
Thursday : 5 easy tempo miles with Fleet Feet running group and weights
Friday : 4 mile interval training
Saturday: Zumba with Denise, weights with Roger and 3 mile hike.
Sunday : 12 mile long run

Totals
Miles : 12
Zumba : 2
Weights : 2

We are repeating the soaked in sweat theme again, because this week was crazy hot and humid again.

Monday Roger tortured me with some hill repeats... I did 3 and didn't think I would be able to do 12, but I did! and my last hill was the fastest at 34 seconds ( for a .15 hill).

Thursday I met the Fleet Feet Running group. It was hot, and squeezing 5 miles in the heat felt impossible, but it got done.

Pealing bugs off my after the run..

Friday we went for 4 miles of intervals. I  was wearing my glasses, and with the humidity, my glasses were fogged the entire time. It was weird. It felt like training in a cloud! Roger rode his bike next to me.

Saturday we headed to the Y for some weights... Roger is working on me doing a head stand someday.... not today.

After I saw this post in Fairy Tales and Fitness, I got all sorts of FOMO and decided on going to Trough Creek State Park for some hiking.

It was great, a lot cooler there than it was in the Harrisburg Area! and we even got caught in the rain!

We are always impressed when Parks have extra maps in random locations!

We did 3 miles of hiking, then we got hungry and were done.

Sundays long run was sweaty and long. I got really hungry at mile 10, and considered stealing food from the parents who were watching their kids play soccer at the park I was at. But stopped myself.

Do you run with glasses? Isn't it the worst?
Ready for school? Where did the summer go?
Favorite Pancakes? I'm trying a birthday pancake tomorrow

  1. I've been running with my glasses when I do early weekday runs just to save time and they fog up too :( It's a pain to deal with but it's better than trying to put in my contacts that early.

    1. Chaitali! you understand my struggle! my eyes refuse to open to interest the contacts !

But this time, my eyes were irritated and I had no choice but glasses.

  2. Licky I don't wear glasses but just bought a pair of sunglasses. And I keep forgetting to put them on before my runs. Guess I do t need them that bad. But they do fog off when I'm running anyway. Birthday pancakes are my favorite!

    1. Meranda, you don't wear sunglasses when you run?

My son's requested birthday pancakes! right now it's his goal to go to an IHOP for their birthday pancakes.

  3. Thank you Karen! I had no choice on the glasses, my eye was very irritated and it seems I'm prone to eye ulcers, so better foggy than blurry. I can't see anything without my glasses!

Thank you! you are too kind! I don't know if a head stand will ever happen for me!

    1. I'm not ready either, and I don't even have to go to school!

Roger has to flex for all his pictures ! He says he works hard on his body and has to show it off !

We do hill repeats at Camp Hill, close to the library, there is very steep hills around there.

  5. Sometimes if I'm too lazy to put my contacts in I run without my glasses. My eyesight is still ok to go a little while without glasses, I just can't read street names. So I have to have to put my contacts in on long runs when I'm following directions. I really do hate running in my glasses.

    1. Running in glasses is pretty bad! But I am severly nearsighted, can't see past my nose without glasses or contacts.

    1. Thanks Lisa! I wonder if there is a trick to keep glasses or sunglasses from fogging ?

  7. I can't do anything in glasses without getting a headache! I think it's because my prescription is so strong. I wear hard contacts-it's all I can do.

    1. Wow Wend! hard contacts? I haven't heard of those in a while!

  8. Love the snapshot with the view inside and outside of your glasses! Very artistic. Great job on those hill repeats and pushing through the runs in the heat and humidity! I wear sunglasses to run, but rarely wear my regular glasses. I'm like Heather, I can see okay without glasses and I am usually too lazy to put in contacts.

  9. Pealing bugs off you means you were going super fast!!! Right! Great job on getting it in in this heat! Wait is it just me but if Roger was running with you he could throw up the arm but since he was on a bike, nah. :) J/K!
    Birthday pancake? yes!!!

    1. Thanks Tricia! But it was so hot, I think the bugs were just trying to find a spot to cool off!

Roger likes to show off like that!

  10. Sometimes meeting a running group is the ONLY way to get a run done in the heat. I usually tap out at 3 miles if I'm alone haha!

    1. Ali, you are right! if it wasn't for the group run, and that I was running with 2 others, I would have turned around at 1 mile.

  11. You had a great training week. I don't even wear sunglasses while running because I can stand when they fog up. They end up on top of my head anyway. Soaked in sweat was definitely the theme again this week. Where did the summer go? My youngest started school last week. Thanks for linking, Ana!
