Weekly Wrap 2.5.17

Good post Super Bowl morning! I hope you are not hangover... I'm not, but I feel like it. I have a cold and being very whinny about it.

I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia this week for the weekly wrap!

Workouts
Tuesday: Bolly X and weights
Wednesday: 5 mile fartlek and weights
Thursday: 2 easy miles
Friday -6 miles easy
Sunday- Zumba

This week was weird... I had my schedule set and ready for everything that I wanted to do. and about half of it didn't happen.

On Tuesday, I showed up to my cardio funk class, and there was a substitute. I don't like the style of this substitute, so I didn't go in. The way I see it, if I get sad and angry during a work out, it's just not worth my time. Running was not on my schedule for that day, and there were no running clothes or shoes in my bag for it. So I walked on the treadmill for a while.

Later that Tuesday, I tried a new class with a runner from the Fleet Feet group, it's called Bolly-X. The class is similar to Zumba, except with Bollywood music! and I love Bollywood music! I had fun, and hope to be back for it next week.

Boo!
On Wednesday I showed up to Zumba at the Y, because some weeks just require dancing to really loud music, but class was full by the time I arrived! This time, I did weights instead.

On Thursday I woke up with a sore throat, but didn't make anything of it. I went for an easy 2 mile run. It was supposed to be 3, but my morning time was spent on fighting with myself to eat a yogurt. My body doesn't like to eat when I first wake up.

Later that day, we went to the Tutu Run with the Fleet Feet group on City Island. My son was with me, and he was cold. He kept saying that he didn't want to run, that he wanted to go home and play. I bundled him up on his pants, and sweater, then put on all his reflective gear. He did about .50 mile and was very proud of himself for running. He couldn't stop talking about it the next day! He might even start joining me to Fleet Feet runs!
Double Boo!!
Friday we were to do 10 miles, but my cold was getting on the way. I ran 6 miles and napped on the car, while Roger finished his run.

Celebrate!
We also celebrated Roger's Birthday on Friday. He picked sushi for his dinner, so off to Tokyo Diner.

Roger is one of those "Reduced sodium" soy sauce people... I asked him why, he said it was better for his heart.

I took the rest of the week off from running, because my cold is making it hard to breath. Boo cold! Boo! go away!

The Magicians by Lev Grossman.

Right now, every part of my body hurts! I want to be home sleeping, but there is too much work to be done at the office.

Did you watch the Super Bowl?
Can you run with a cold?
What food do you pick for your Birthday meal?

  1. I am so sorry you are feeling crappy! I wish you could relax at home. I live Bollywood music too!! Paul does reduced sodium soy as well which I think is ridiculous. Happy Bday, Roger!!

    1. OmG! I felt so sick yesterday, I barely remember what I did...this post is a total blur!

I didn't know low sodium soy sauce was a thing until I saw Roger having it. He also does reduced sodium salt... we each have our own salts at home!

  2. Ugh, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. But how cool that your son might join Fleet Feet with you!

I am a reduced sodium soy sauce person as well, and it is ridiculous. I am super sensitive to salty tasting things which is why I do it ... but it doesn't really help. I still think it tastes like drinking salt.

    1. Kristina, do you also have reduced sodium salt? Roger does, and gets on my case about having regular salt at home.

  3. I agree, no point in a work out that makes you feel sad and angry. But what a great find on the Bollywood workout! I've never heard of that before but it sounds like it would be fun. I hope you feel better soon. I was sadly feeling yucky over the weekend but seem mostly better now.

  5. I love your blog posts. You have a knack for including details that would otherwise go unnoticed in day-to-day life. The sodium soy sauce is an example. I love hearing your little interactions like that! And I'm glad your son liked running! Sometimes we have to just force them to do stuff. I saw your snap about being sick, and then I got sick right after that. I think I got it through the screen! I'm feeling very sorry for myself now.

    1. Thank you! That is so kind of you to say!

I'm sorry that I virtually gave you my cold! it's a new thing... I'm sure my sister gave it to me through our phone calls!

I hope you feel better soon!

  6. I'm sorry to hear you have a bad cold. I don't usually get stuffed up. I just get sore throats, which I usually run through. It's great that your son enjoyed the run. I hope you will have many more together. I picked Oysters Rockefeller for my last birthday dinner. Thanks for linking, Ana!

  8. I did not even watch the super bowl but I am hungover from the past weekend! We were in Nola! I never rest when there!
I love hibachi and that is exactly what I'd pick for my birthday meal! Although I never put soy on my stuff. Too much sodium for me but my hubs loves it!
