Weekly Wrap 2 12.17

Happy Monday!! Last week was weird again. I was sick at the beginning of the week and barely got in any workouts. I say it was all about recovery from this evil cold!

Workouts
Thursday : 3 miles easy, and Zumba
Friday : 3.6 miles
Saturday : Love Run 2 miles and weights
Sunday: Zumba and weights

I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia this week for the weekly wrap.

On Monday, after completing most of my work, I went home sick. I could barely hold my head up and couldn't concentrate on anything. I spent the rest of the day napping and taking cold meds.

Thursday we had a snow day! My son and I enjoyed our extra sleep! then we did some light work at home. I also ran with the Fleet Feet group, which ended up being another woman, Fred and I.

Did Not Love

On Friday I joined the HARRC group for their full moon Beer Run. It was fun, but I ended up awkwardly waiting for people to drink their beer, because I don't drink beer and I am not a very social person. This might be the last time I do a run with them, it is a great route, and a great idea, but I suck at making new friends.

On Saturday Roger woke up with a cold, but still came with me to the Love Run 2 mile race. I had been wanting to do this race for a few years, but there were always other things in my schedule. It was a fun and quick race, I might be back next year.

Loved this weekend!

Roger and I went to a nice dinner on Saturday, in part to celebrate Valentine's day early, and part because we rarely go out to eat on weekends. We had a lovely dinner and ordered this amazing chocolate dessert!

  1. I could see where that beer run would be awkward. I would have felt the same way.

Your dessert looks amazing! What was it?

    1. Maybe it's less awkward for somebody who is more social... or maybe I need to work on my social skills.

It was a chocolate cake, it had cream in the middle and chocolate ganache on top. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. I'm not a huge dessert person, but this cake was delicious!

  3. That beer run does sound awkward. Is it possible to just do the run and leave before the beer portion? I hope you're feeling better!

    1. They stop at three bars, and the leader said there were going to be people who kept going, but it turned out everybody wanted to stop for beer. I will just know now that I can wait outside, or keep going... or stay home.

  4. I'm sure it's hard to be social when other people are drinking and you're not. I don't drink beer either! Where did you guys go out to eat? I hope you're feeling better!

    1. You are right, I'm not a huge beer driker, plus I'm not good at making friends...

We went to Pizza Grille, it was delicious! I didn't like my server, but the food was good.

Thanks! I am feeling lots better!

  5. Favorite dessert? Hmm, that's a tough one. Recently I've been loving cake. But anything with chocolate & peanut butter is sure to be a winner.

I had the sniffles last week too which really put me down for the count for a few days.

  6. I am not good at those running clubs, either. I always feel like people come with their own friends and don't branch out; I'm guilty of that! I'd never go alone, and if I go with my own friends I never bother to meet new people. How do running groups work for some people?! There must be something attractive about them to others...

    1. I was hoping a runner friend would be there, but she was sick and couldn't make it. I just needed the miles and didn't want to run alone, but the stress was too much.

I get it, I don't branch out either, I suck at it.

  7. I love the sunglasses!

I've never done a running club, because I don't do well in groups either. I like my new group, tho!

  8. Oh yes it snowed so much here! Inches and inches! I could barely open my front door, but I got to drink hot chocolate and wear scarves and boots!

    1. Have you ever played on snow? You are invited to come up and visit when there is snow! I'm not a fan of the shoveling or of the snow getting all over the place. It's like sand, but I'm ok with sand.

      It was so delicious!!

  9. It was too cloudy here for the moon or any other activity.

  10. I hope you are feeling better! I've met a few friends at our running club over the years. But, it always takes me a while to feel comfortable around people. I've done a couple of two mile races. It's a fun quick distance. I don't think I could pick just one favorite dessert. There are so many! Thanks for linking, Ana!

  11. I get this about your HARRC group. I'm not a beer drinker either, wine or whisky, ummm yes just not beer. Hang in there, it takes a bit of practice to be social.
    Wow that dessert looks amazing!
No snow, it was almost 80 here yesterday and absolutely just beautiful! Oh I am a week behind, yea trying to get caught up! Better late than never right Ana? Enjoy this week!
