Things That Annoy Roger

Hello, how are you today? Last year I did a post on things that I don't like to hear when when pmsing.  Last week, Roger and I got into a flight and he reminded me that I also say thing that are annoying to him.

A little background for you, Roger works from home, and often he will do things around the house, like taking out the trash, washing the towels, taking out the recycling..... Well, last week he asked me to take the trash, and said to me " I am not the maid here!"  And I answered something really mean, I said " right, because if you were the maid, I would have fired you." In my defense, I had just walked in from work, I was hungry and my son was refusing to work on his homework.  We made up, and got past it. But this made me think of other things I say that annoy Roger.

1. Do you know how much toilet paper/ paper towels cost? He hates this one! he uses paper towels for everything, and I use reusable towels for wiping things.

2. This conversation :

R- what do you want for dinner?
Me- I don't know
R- black beans and rice?
Me- no
R- steak and pasta ?
Me- no
R- spaghetti and meatballs?
Me- no
R- ok, I'm making myself salmon and salad
Me- no, let's go back to that black beans and rice idea.

3. Right before we go for a run- I'm Hungry.
We schedule our runs together, and it drives him crazy that I don't prepare myself for the run.

I asked Roger what other things I say annoy him, but now he is being all sweet and saying. There is nothing else... I'm going to have to test that!

What are things that your SO says that annoy you?
Do you know how much paper towels and TP cost?
What is your "I don't feel like cooking " dinner?
What is one thing you do that you know annoys your SO?

  1. "We need to get a new roof"--my husband. Then he does nothing.
One year later: "we need to get a new roof." We borrow the money. It's sitting in the bank. Still no new roof. That's what bugs me about my husband. He cannot commit to big projects.

    1. It bothers me when there is no follow up... in my mind, if I want to do something, I figure out the prices, the steps and when I can start it.

I hope this is the year you get a new roof!

  2. LOVE this and I can SO relate. I try to use reusable everything, and I get annoyed when I see others use disposable everything since it's so bad for the environment (and the pocketbook!) Adam insists on shredding all of his mail because he is concerned about identity theft, and I get annoyed because his mail frequently piles up. I tell him identify thieves have tactics way more sophisticated than finding your unshredded junk mail, so who cares if you just dump it into a recycle bin unshredded. Him: NOPE!!! MUST SHRED EVERYTHING!

    1. Thank you Emily! I love reusable everything too!

Roger and I have the same fight about the junk mail, except he wants to just put it in the garbage, and I want him to recycle it.

  3. Ha, I can relate to the paper towel thing. There for a while I was only buying napkins because my husband would unroll like 5 feet of paper towel just to wipe up a tiny spill. He's gotten much better at that now!

  4. HAHAHAH Adam and I have the same arguments! Adam works from home too, and if he asks me to do something as soon as I walk in the door I get very upset. Like, really, you're going to ask me to do the dishes when you've been home all day and I just got out of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour?!?!?!?!

Also it's my chore to wash the dishes (but I'm damn well do it when I please) and his chore to take out the trash and we frequently argue about which job is harder. I mean OBVIOUSLY it's the dishes. Loading and unloading the dishwasher is a time consuming process!

I like to think that the fact that these stupid things are what we argue about means our relationship is pretty good :). I bet it's the same for you and Roger!

    1. There needs to be a grace period to decompress from traffic, the drive and the stress from the office.

I am with you, the dishes is the hardest job!! rinsing them, aligning them, finding space! it's hard work!

You are right, we are lucky this are only the silly things, I would rather argue about toilet paper, than about a bigger problem!

I think my health is to never leave my house.n okay, how about neighborhood so.I can still run? I feel like if I asked Paul what annoys him about me he would be all nice like Roger and say there is nothing...

    1. We do eat good dinners! For as much as I complain about black beans and rice, they are really good!

Working from home is a great goal! I admire those who can do it!

Ask him... he will be all sweet about it!

  7. I'm dying because Mr. Sass and I joke all the time about the cost of paper towels versus napkins. Napkins are way cheaper BTW. And he'll be sitting at the table with a napkin in front of him & then get up to walk across the kitchen for a papertowel. WHAT!?

My I don't want to cook meal is chips & guac. Guac from a pouch at Aldi. #LAZY
