I Ran This Year!

What a year it was !! this year I raced my longest race, AND the shortest. I didn't set out to run a marathon in 2016, it sounded too scary, but I started the training and did it! I secretly gave myself a goal of 20 races this year, but realized by October, that was not going to happen, and I was ok with it.

Here are lots of pictures of my running

My first 5K of the year

Ice Fest 5K- 24.19. My fastest 5K of 2016

Washington DC RnR Half Marathon 1:58:59

My fastest Half marathon of the year

Gettysburg Marathon 4:49. When I look back at this picture, I wonder my I lifted my foot and can't remember.

My son did his first 5K at the Kennett Run this year! I was so proud of my boy! I hope that in 2017, at least 1 brother will join us on the 5K.

I have lost speed on my 5Ks, and it was a bit disappointing. I look forward to
working on speed again in 2017

The Best Moment in Running - I loved all the races, I had fun in each and every one of them. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Bird In Hand; but the best running moment was this one day that I didn't feel like running. I wanted to go stay home and take a nap, but I got up and met the Fleet Feet Group and had a fantastic run with running friends. Whenever I don't want to run, because it's too hot, because it's too cold, because I'm tired... I lace up my sneakers, re do my ponytail and head out anyway.

Numbers

15 races
2 DNS
1 Virtual Race
1 Marathon

How was your running year?
What was your favorite race?
What are you working on next year?

  1. 15 races is HUGE. 2016 was a weird year of running for me. I just wasn't really feeling it. I had fun racing some 5Ks & I would say it was the year of the AG awards for me. I'm excited to work more on speed in 2017 & get back to running some HMs!

I love all your fun medals! I need to search some out, I feel like my races always just give out standard round ones. Blah.

    1. Yes, I have a marathon in mind right now, but wont' register until January. A few things need align for it to happen.

If you want to run BIH, check out registration now, it sells out by April, and right now it's the best prices.
