Friday Five- Holiday Edition

Merry Christmas! Happy Holiday! Happy Hanukah ! Happy 5 days off work at the end of the year!

I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness  for the Friday Five 2.0.

Today I'm bringing you 5 Holiday / Christmas randoms.

1. Earlier this Week, NPR had this story on Christmas Ornaments- A Christmas Tree Ornament is Worth a thousand words.  It brought tears to my eyes! We all have ornaments with a special story.

2. Liam Neeson Audition for Santa- I love Liam Neeson's voice! Everything he does is perfection!

3. All I Want For Christmas Is You- The Mariah Carey Christmas Carpool. You all know how much I love the Carpool series! and this edition made me so very happy!

4. My sister did the most amazing thing!! She *accidentally* canceled the internet and cable at my parents house yesterday, and can't get anybody to set up the new Internet provider until December 28th. So, my parent's house will be free of internet distractions the entire weekend. So we will be back to enjoying Christmas, without posting and constantly checking Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. I will be an interesting weekend!

5.  We celebrate Christmas on December 24th. It has been this way all my life. We spend the 25th just relaxing and enjoying the day.  This year, Roger and I will be running our long Run, then enjoying a Christmas dinner and wine.

When do you open presents ?
What do you do on Christmas day?
What is your favorite Christmas / holiday song?
Do you think we will last this weekend without using up all of our phone data?

And I saved my favorite Christmas song for this Friday! This song is old, but it's my FAVORITE!!

  1. Can you cancel Internet and cable for only a set period of time? Or was this an honest mistake?

Christmas day is busiest in our family. I doubt I will get in a run.

    1. She cancelled it thinking she could get another company to set up the internet before Christmas, but they had no appointments until the 28th.

She said she should have made an appointment first, then cancelled the services, but didn't think about it.

  2. This is so great! I love hearing how other families celebrate. I grew up having Christmas on the 25th, but the whole divorce and blended family thing changes it up a bit; we kinda do it whenever it works best for everyone. This year we had our immediate family dinner last night, and we're going to my family's dinner tonight, and then my kids are here on Christmas Eve for dinner and gifts, then we go to Andrew's parents' on Christmas Day, then they're coming here for appies and dessert on Boxing Day and then my huge extended family Christmas is on the 27th. WHEW.

  3. We usually do Christmas Eve with my extended family and then Christmas afternoon/dinner with my mom and my inlaws. It will be a crazy couple of days, but always tons of fun!

  4. By accidentally do you mean on purpose??? Oh my gosh I would not like to not have the internet for that long!!

I love Christmas Eve, and to me, Christmas Eve and Christmas are both really special days. On Christmas Eve we go to my Grandma's house for lunch and then Paul's aunt's house for dinner. On Christmas morning we go to my mom's house and then Paul's parents in the evening. It's a little bit of driving but worth it to see everyone! Normally Paul and I exchange presents on Christmas night, but last year we started doing it on Christmas Eve.

Have a wonderful weekend with your family!!!!!

    1. By accident and on purpose! she wanted to cancel it before my dad left for Mexico, but didn't set up a new provider until after she cancelled. We survived. My niece was having a small meltdown, because she wasn't listening to her favorite jams, but we still survived it.

It is a lot of driving, but so completely worth it! we drive back up to Harrisburg on Christmas morning, and then we just did nothing on Christmas day.

  7. I freaking LOVE Liam Neeson. He looks so thin and unwell in that video though, it worries me!! We've lost so many celebrities this year, it makes me nervous.

I love that your sister accidentally canceled internet/cable at your parents' house. So funny!

    1. He does look thin, I always think of how much he has been through, since his wife passed.

I know!! when she told me, we just both started laughing! nothing left to do but laugh about it.
