Friday Five

Hello!! how are you ? I hope your New Year Celebrations are underway and plenty! I have been busy at home helping my son build his Lego sets, making waffles and burning pancakes. I also have been reading your blogs, I know I have not commented in many, but I will return and comment!

I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness  for the Friday Five 2.0.

Today, I'm going to write about things I want to do before the end of 2016. While I'm ready to start writing 2016..7 on all my documents for the next month, I still have a few unresolved business with this year.

1. Finish 4 books in the next 38 hours. I'm a quarter of the way through 3 right now and I'm thinking.... who needs sleep, right?

2. Run one more race tomorrow - This will interferer for about 30 minutes with my reading, but I have wanted to race in Rehoboth since last year.

3. Finish two stacks of timesheets at work. My office is closing at 11:30 today, and if nothing else, I need to finish the timesheets for the week.

4. Run 8 more miles in December. This is purely a need to finish the month in a round number. I met my miles goal for the year back in October.

5. Register for 2 2017 Races. Lots of races that I'm looking at have prices going up in January, but I have to pick two that will be the biggest savings. I have my eye on the Pittsburgh Grace Race, (Registration is $25 on December 31st) and weighting options on The Gettysburg Marathon ( Registration fee increases by $20 on 01.01.17).

Happy New Year!! Don't forget to wear your red underwear on New Years Day for good luck in 2017! <-- that might be only a Mexican thing, but I'm passing the message along.

Are you done with 2016?
How was your work week ?
Will you be wearing you red underwear for New Year?
Do you have any New Year traditions? - my Mom used to make us clean the whole house.
How long will it take you to adjust to writing 2017?

  1. You have a lot to get done in the next 48 hours! I am nervous about the book thing for you but I have faith you will get it done... especially if you can read in the car on the way to Rehoboth! I do not own red underwear, can I wear my red fishnets instead? I can't believe your mom would make you clean the whole house on NYD. If I had to think of one upside to having kids, it would be that I could make them clean for me...

    1. Red finishnets will work!

I'm nervous about the books too, but I have most of the time scheduled out ... I'm very optimistic!

My moms goal was to start the new year with a clean house, she thought it would be good luck!

  2. Wow, you have lots to finish up for the year! I should take a look and see which races have price increases after the new year too. Unless it's a Disney race, I have a hard time registering too far in advance.

    1. Really ? Why is that? If I can save some money, I'll register for a race MONTHS In advance.

  3. Thank you for the red underwear tip! I had not heard of that before but I will definitely do it this year!

That's so funny that your mom made you clean the whole house on New Years! It seems like my tradition for the new year is frantically packing and moving. Somehow we have always moved in December/January. I am glad we got that over with in early Dec. this year so I can relax and do nothing on New Years this year. I think I will start a new tradition of doing nothing and enjoying it :)

    1. Doing nothing on New Years is the best tradition !! When my son was littler, I used to go to bed at 9pm, because I was exhausted and he was going to be up at 6:!!

I'm so glad you got your move out of the way Early this year and can enjoy the new house !!

  4. You have a big, grandiose ending to 2016 on your plate! There's a couple races that I'm a little interested in that have price increases on January 1....need to reassess which ones I REALLY am interested in doing LOL

  6. Did you finish your books?

I don't think I own any red underwear. That explains my bad luck streak... :p

    Happy New Year Ana!
