Friday Five - 12//02/2016

Happy Friday! My office is having a "Free Jeans day"... that just means we can wear jeans without paying a small fine donation. But, I don't own many pairs of jeans, I wish this was a "wear leggings to work day".

Anyway, now that I have lost track of anything I was talking about, back to the Friday 2.0 Link up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness . The theme today is What Would you Buy all over again? I'm excited for this one.

First off, I'm going to Runfess (is not too late to Runfess, right?) that I am a very savvy shopper... or Cheap, which ever you like better. I buy things on clearance, at outlets, and Thrift stores, and some of my favorites are the only of their kind by the time I get to them. And that always makes me wish to have found them sooner.

Here are 5 things that I would buy 3 more of, if I could find them (at the same price of course)

1. My pink shorts from Walmart. This beauties cost me $4.88. They are from the girls side of the store, because Walmart clothes run a little big. I have them in 3 colors, but this pink ones are my favorites.

2. The black Target Tank Top - found at Target for $4! It was the last one on the rack, and I looked for it on line, but no luck. I love this plain black tank top!

3. This Awesome Nike Free sneakers! I am still beating myself up for not buying 10 pairs of this shoes. I could buy them on amazon, but I am being stubborn and refusing to pay $65 for them.

4. This super comfy long sleeve tech shirt! I got it with a gift card from my brother and LOVE IT! This shirt and I were meant to be together!

5. The Registration for Bird In Hand Fireman's Challenge (5K and Half Marathon). BIH was one of the hardest races I did this year, it was blazing hot, and my time was slow, but it was one of the most amazing races I have done. The sense of community is strong, the after race picnic is amazing, and the hot air balloons are a sight of dreams.

Do you have jeans days at work?
Do you have to pay to wear jeans?
Do you have a favorite pair of shorts?
Any good clearance finds?

  1. I have been on the hunt for a basic black tank. I was just at Target and Walmart and neither place had one. Have you ever heard of pajama jeans? The comfort of leggings but the look of jeans. Maybe your work would never notice:)

    1. I got so lucky to find that one! and it was the last one!

Check Under Armour, I just got a black tank there for $15 and it's light and cool. I love it!

I will be checking out pajama jeans for sure!

  2. Those are some great prices! I usually wait and find things on sale but I don't think I've ever done that well :) Our dress codes was made more casual at work earlier this year so jeans are acceptable almost all the time. I didn't have a lot of jeans either and had to actually go buy more for work :(

    1. I'm jealous of anybody with a relaxed dress code. Our office "relaxed" the dress code last year, but only to mean we dont' have to wear sports jackets... but I have so many and get so cold, that I wear mine anyway.

  3. I love my Wal Mart shorts too! They're not the same as yours but they were equally as cheap. I have over 10 pairs. Not kidding!

I am totally gonna do BIH next year.

We do have "dress down days" at work and it's usually for a donation to a charity. Sometimes we have spirit days where we wear our school colors, ugly Christmas sweater, twin day, etc. If you participate in the spirit day, you can wear jeans. I NEVER wear jeans to work because we are allowed to wear leggings so I am normally super comfortable already. Leggings under a stretchy dress or tunic? I feel like I am in my PJS!

    1. I bought a pair in the women's section and they were falling off me. But I was not going to give in and buy shorts for $50, I need that money for groceries. as soon as the new ones come out in spring, I am buying 4 more pairs!

I am super excited for you to do BIH next year! My sisters and I are considering a hotel room, you could totally join us!

My office doesn't believe in doing fun stuff like that... but the other side of the building does... to the point of offensive.

    1. Paying for jeans day is not very much fun! Those are $5 that I can use for pizza!

  8. I'm so cheap. It's rare when I splurge, but it did happen to me recently. But normally I'm a clearance rack shopper. Most of my wardrobe is clearance, actually. I hate buying things for full price because it's usually not worth it. Except when it comes to outerwear... if I need it, I'll spend the money because it's usually worth it to stay warm and dry.

    1. I hate buying expensive work out stuff, especially because it gets all sweaty and gross eventually.

I splurge on shoes, because I need those to be comfy and durable, so I totally understand your outerwear splurges!

  9. You are a very savvy shopper! We do the same thing for jeans days. People wear leggings other days though. Our dress code has really gone way towards the casual end of business casual, and some days I lead the way. :-)

    1. We are not a casual dress office at all! at some point, there was a rumor that animal prints were not going to be allowed at our office.

  10. We do a $1 jeans day every Friday, too. We have a 50/50 raffle at the end of the day and the other half of the money goes to charity. I don't mind it, but I agree that I wish there was a leggings day!!

Target has some awesome workout clothes, and they are so affordable, especially when they're on sale! Now I want to go to Target...

    1. See, $1 is reasonable! our office fee is $5 for jeans, which can pay for 2 pizza slices!

Target does have pretty cool stuff! I always window shop at Target!
