Happy Monday!! I am still jet lagged from the spring forward, but excited for more sunlight !   I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia  this week for the weekly wrap.     Workouts  Monday- 3 miles easy Thursday - 3 easy miles, Zumba and 15 min of yoga.  Saturday: RnR D.C. Half marathon       Funny, weird Story... Where is my Shoe?   On Monday at work, I took off my one shoe under my desk, because my foot was hot. 5 minutes later, somebody asked me a question, and I got up, but couldn't find my shoe! stood up and answered the question, knowing that it was not possible to leave my desk. I took a picture, to send my sister... this are the things we share with each other...   Pink Darth Vader socks..... I need motivation to get up early in the morning.   How does somebody lose a shoe under a desk? Well, do you see that computer tower? I use it to elevate my feet and apparently, to hid...

I'm joining the Friday 5 Link up with    Running on Happy  &  Fairytales and Fitness . I'm heading to DC for the R'n'R Half Marathon tomorrow, and I'm super excited, nervous and scared! It's supposed to be cold and windy, Roger is freaking out and his emotions are starting to get to me. We need to stop acting like we have never ran in the cold before! 2. I'm meeting Chaitali for Dinner !! I'm super excited to meet this awesome lady! 3. Sleeping in! Everything is working on my side this year! We are staying within walking distance of the race start, the race starts at 8:30 am, and I'm on the last corral. That me...

I Suck at Protesting and other Ramblings

Happy Wednesday! how are you today? How is your week going? Last night I was gearing myself up for this Day Without A Woman event, I picked out my red scarf to wear in support, because there is a mountain of papers at my paper that wont' let me take the day off. My son made muffins... from a box... on his own, and I thought of a lunch to pack. One of the easiest things for me to pack is a rice bowl, (chicken, pico de gallo, beans, avocado) so I made extra of everything for dinner, and made the rice. **BUT** In Roger's head, he eats meat once a week, in reality, he eats meat 3 times per week. So, I made one chicken breast, half was for me for dinner, the other half for me to take for lunch. It was a big piece of chicken, so even if Roger ate some of it, there would still be enough for me to take.... Until he ate all of it. Along with most of the pico de gallo I had also made extra of. Bottom-line, there wasn't enough food for me to pack a lunch. Then it hit me.....

Happy Monday! how are you today? Workouts Tuesday: Cardio Funk and Bolly X Wednesday: 4 mile easy run and weights Friday- 3 miles of sprints Saturday: 5 miles Tempo run Friday: 9 miles easy run I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia  this week for the weekly wrap. Lent started this week, so to get it out of the way, I got my cheesteak on... because I'm giving up cheesteaks for lent. First I want to say that I suck at recovery! While we didn't race the trail half marathon, we were for sure hurting a little after the run. I took Tuesday off from running, but had to do lots of squats at Cardio Funk and Bolly X, my quads didn't like me later that night. We also had lots of fastnachts that day, and lots of coffee!! Fire! On Friday, while I was warming up for my sprints, an ambulance flew right by me, there had been a lot of firetrucks going by while I was getting ready, but I didn't think much of it... and when I turned the corner to s...

Good Friday morning , how are you today? My week was buys, and I'm glad to be off from work today! I'm joining the Friday 5 Link up with    Running on Happy  &  Fairytales and Fitness . Today's theme is running hacks ... I might not have any good hacks, I don't take myself seriously enough to give advice, but hopefully I'll make you laugh.  1. For your speed work, race a random stranger .... Who hasn't been challenged to a treadmill race at the gym? It happens to me often. A random person take the treadmill next to me and tries to take a peek at my speed and immediately tries to match it. I've outran many people this way, and it makes the mill time go faster.  2. For long runs, run half the distance away from your car. The first time I did 10 miles, I ran 5 miles away from my car. I had no option, but to run the 5 miles back.  3. Shorts will get stinky, no matter how much they cost.... But yours at Walmart, and use the savings for r...

Squirrely Tail Twail Wun - Half Marathon Race Recap

Image
Race Details Cost : $25 plus processing Goodies : cotton shirt, post race snacks, race fuel, and free views of the lake (From the race website) Weather: Sunny, windy starting temps of 28. Roger and I chose to do this race as a training run, knowing that we didn't have much experience on trails. We hike a lot, but we barely ever run in trail. We had 12 miles on the schedule for that day, and our logic was "What is one more mile?!"   We went into this a bit overconfident, thinking that I could finish it in 2:40.   I had a weird pain on the back of my right ankle since Thursday night. I had taken off from running on Friday, hoping the soreness would stop. As we started running, I kept feeling the twinge on my foot, but kept telling myself to keep moving.      We started out pretty fast, there were lots of branches and rocks, it seemed like if the terrain was this, it would be a bit painful at the end, but manageable.   That was until w...

What is in my bag?

Image
One of my favorite things in magazines used to be the What's In Your bag page. I realize now that most of those were just Another ad. But, because I am on the process of changing bags, I wanted to give you a peek at what is inside my work bag . I carry a very small purse, so that post would be three sentences... I carry my wallet, and my phone in it.   The first bag- I got a promotion at work a few weeks ago, and I decided to switch back to my supervisor bag.  Bag #1 I've had this bag since 2008, I got it at Target, it was from their Isaac Mizrahi line. I loved everything about this bag, the size, the shape, the color, the inside lining.  But this bag no longer fits my needs.  This is what I had inside of it.   Food... chocolate hazelnut candy is my favorite !  I have the hazelnut Hershey kisses, Mexican hazelnut candy and this tasty wafers I picked up at Aldi.  I also always take my Tajin to work, but can't l...

Happy Monday! How are you today? I'm sure glad I'm not Warren Beatty this morning! I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia  this week for the weekly wrap. Last week was tiring, and it felt like I couldn't find my running rhythm. Workouts Wednesday: easy 3 miles + weights Thursday: 4.5 miles easy and zumba Friday: running exercises' and pull up bar exercises Saturday: Zumba Sunday: Squirrelly Tail Half Marathon Not My Best! On Monday our office volunteer to help out Dress For Success set up their store, for their semi-annual sale. I know I talked about this before, but what is a good deed if one can't keep referencing back to it? right? I'm telling you about it again because 1. I was told by an older gentleman that I shouldn't carry boxes, because I'm "A little Girl "...( Insert eye roll here)  his exact words! to which, I rudely responded by asking " you mean like this?" and lifting two boxes at one time. Th...
