Weekly Wrap 7.9.17

Happy Monday ! Work week is back to schedule, and I'm almost over this summer cold.

Let's see, I didn't run very much. I know some of you awesome women run with colds, in the rain, while pregnant, but a cold really knocks me on my butt. I aspire to be like all of you one day! but for now, I will just rest and catch up on sleep. Today for my weekly wrap, I'll tell you what laziness happened last week.

On Monday I came home from work feeling worn out and tired, I could feel the cold coming and after dropping off my son with his father, and having my heart torn out... my body didn't leave the couch for the rest of the night. I accidentally watched the last 3 episodes of Game of Thrones because Roger was watching it.

On July 4th, I slept in. Close to lunch, we went to get some burgers and beer at Wegmans for our "at home 4th of July" celebration. I didn't have a beer, because my body felt sick enough on just water, so I'll be saving the beer for another day. We watched a lot of Orange Is The New Black, and went to bed early.

That's the Corona I'm having in Suzy's behalf

On Friday, we were scheduled to go to Knoebels, but I couldn't stop coughing Friday night. So Roger said we were not going, and that I needed to rest. He takes good care of me, and forces me to rest when I need it, otherwise, I would run myself into the ground.

We went to the pool instead, and I feel asleep on the shade. After, we went to pick up my new glasses.

I broke one of the lenses, so now one side is blurry...

On Saturday, I took my son to a place called Climbnasium, where I got trained to be a spotter and my son climbed some pretty high walls.

We also went to see the local fireworks

and on Sunday, we went to our local Second and Charles for some books. We picked up Wonder by R Palacio, and Diary of A Wimpy Kid #3. Wonder is such a wonderful book, I know it's for kids, but it I would recommended to anybody.

I did finally run 3 miles on Sunday.

Currently Reading
You'll Grow Out Of It by Jessi Klein. I like this type of humor by women books, and the look at women's expectations.

How was your week?

Is it mandatory to have burgers or hot dogs for 4th of July?

What is the youngest book you have read for yourself ? I'm working through Amazon's 100 books to read in a lifetime, so Good Night moon is the youngest book I read for it.

Do you wall climb?

  1. We heard those fireworks from our house and had to text our neighbor because we had no clue where they were coming from. They were LOUD. Jelly ran and hid, Christmas was curious.

I am glad you DIDN'T run and rested. There was a time I would have run NO MATTER WHAT but not anymore. Running doesn't have that hold over me anymore. If I am sick and I don't feel like running, I don't do it. I run enough, so if I don't feel like it, it's a great day to just RELAX.

Oh no, can you fix the lens on your glasses!?

Such a bummer about Knoebels!! :( We are going to go after vacation at some point. Wed we are taking Paul's nephews and niece to Hersheypark. I'm not a huge fan of that place but his mom got us all a day pass for Christmas so I am sure we will have fun!

Did it make you nervous to see your Little Nugget up so high?

    1. yes! everybody from Hampden township was there! the parking lot was full! They put on a great fireworks show!

I am glad that running doesn't have that hold over you anymore !!

I need to call my doctor to see about changing the lense, they were so expensive that they better fix them for free!!

Have fun at Hershey! we used to go there a lot a few years ago. how odl are your nephews/ niece?

I wasn't nervous seeing him climb, because I was very focused on my part of the job, which was pulling the rope to be able to hold him, that took a lot of work.

  2. Rest is so important! I'm glad Roger forced you to rest up :) I do the same thing sometimes and Mike has to talk some sense into me. Climbnasium sounds like a lot of fun!

    1. I think we just want to get everything done and not rest, but it is so important to rest and recuperate!

  3. Glad you rested instead of ran. I would not run with a cold either (unless of course it was a race I already scheduled, like the Hershey one, ehem! ).

I SO need that Jessi Klein book right now! Let me now what you think of it.

  4. You are so good to take care of yourself! I'm bad about that and I think that is why I'm paying for it now.

  5. 100 books to read in your lifetime sounds like a fun challenge. Hope you are feeling better this week

  6. Good choice to rest up!!! I do that when I'm sick too. I'd rather take a day or two to rest and then feel better, instead of doing too much and prolonging the sickness.

Adam and I ate Mexican on 4th of July. I thought about burgers and hot dogs, but there is something about a good taco that will always draw me in :).

I didn't know Amazon had a 100 list, I am going to check that out today!
