Weekly Wrap 01.08.17

Good Morning!

How are you today? I hope you had a good weekend.  I'm  linking up with Holly and Tricia this week, to wrap up the last week of the year.

Workouts
Tuesday : Cardio Funk and 3.5 miles of intervals
Wednesday: Zumba and weights
Sunday: 4 miles tempo and weights

Last year, I neglected the weights most weeks. This year, I want it to be different, and it goes on my schedule twice a week. I hope to keep choosing to make the time for it.

After sitting down and reviewing how much I ran this week, it looked like I didn't do much. But I was so tired and sore most of the week. Intervals kicked my butt this week! and so did the weights!

Friday, the plan had 4 miles, but I didn't sleep well the night before, and felt tired and sick, so used up the day to rest. I felt so much better later on the day.

Friday morning, we checked the Christmas Tree for our Three Kings presents, and we go lucky! Thank you Three Kings for the gifts!

Growing up, we didn't receive presents during Christmas, only for Three Kings Day on January 6th.

This weekend was all about celebrating my son's birthday. We went to Skyzone, a trampoline park and to lunch with my family. We had so much fun jumping at Skyzone, and if you saw our videos, you saw me and my sisters failing miserably at jumping.

My son, Spiderman in training.

After jumping, we had lunch and cake. The cake was so delicious!!

On Sunday, we finally put our Christmas Tree away. I was sad to see it go, but having the space and light by the window made our living room so spacious!

I also spend time reading and playing with my son under all the blankets, it was way too cold to do much more.

Random Conversation with my son, while eating dinner
Me: My boy, did you eat your steak and pasta?
Him: Yes, still eating it.
Me: Do you want more?
Him: No

5 minutes later, as I was packing his lunch and he was still at the table

Me: Did you finish your steak and pasta? do you want more?
Him: I'm still eating, why do you keep asking me if I want more? Do you want me to be fat like you?

Me: Do you think I'm fat?
Him: Just on your belly, but I love your fat belly.
Me : Thanks love!

Yes, my son thinks I have a fat belly!! I couldn't stop laughing when he told me this.

  1. I like how you said you hope you "choose" to make time for weights. Choosing is key. So often we say we don't have time for things but really it's all in what we "choose" to spend our time on. Now there are things we HAVE to do like work and stuff!

I'm interested to learn more about this 3 kings day.

    1. It's all about the choices! In the winter I always chose to stay under the blankets, and in the summer, I always chose to go for ice cream!!

I just did a post on the 3 kings! check it out if you have a moment.

  2. The trampoline park looks like a lot of fun! I've never done anything like that but I bet it's tough. Your son seems to have mastered it :)

  3. Very funny conversation! Kids say the darnedest things. I usually take down all the Christmas decorations on Boxing Day because I can't stand clutter! This year we took it all down on the 28th!

  4. Your son is in a fantasy world! Kids are so freaking blunt. One day I didn't wear makeup to school and all the kids thought I was sick. I was like, no, I am just not wearing makeup!

All of our decorations are officially down. Except the icicle lights. I left those for Paul!

    1. I tell my son that kids are just mean little people... with no filter. I didn't mind him calling me fat... but if it was anybody else, I would have been mad.

      Yay for decorations down!

  6. Did you celebrate Dia de los Reyes with the bread? Did you find the mono? We used to do that at my office where everyone spoke Spanish but me. I loved that tradition!

  7. That trampoline park looks like so much fun, and I bet it ended up being good exercise too! What a fun way to spend some energy. I don't remember such things existing when I was a kid! Discovery Zone had a ball pit but that's boring (and full of germs! even as a kid i thought about how germy the balls must be haha)!

I read My Marathon too! So good!

  9. SkyZone looks like SO much fun!! Many of my students go to similar places for birthdays or just weekend fun. I always say someday I'll try it out...
