Friday Five and Some January Rufessions

Happy Friday!

My sister sent me a text message on Wednesday, saying that she went through the day thinking it was Thursday... only to realize that it was only Wednesday. She was over the moon for today being Friday!

I'm linking up with Running on Happy & Fairytales and Fitness  for the Friday Five 2.0 and Marcia For Runfessions.

Before anything else, I want to send out a huge shout out to this wonderful and awesome women/bloggers who attended Women Marches through the United States. Megan, Ali and Rachel, You ladies are my heroes!

Today, I bring you some random things and Runfessions

1. I runfess that I have been feeling jealous.... of everybody posting their new ambassadorships on social media! Whenever a "I'm a Nuunbassador " pops up on instagram, I think to myself "Man! I want to be an ambassador for Nuun!" And then I get over it as quickly as the twinge of jealousy started, when I remember that I have no desire to be an ambassador for anything that is not a taco. Congratulation to all of you awesome people who are ambassadors!

2. I runfess that I was a glutton at the grocery store last week. We picked up this warm loaf of multigrain bread at Wegmans, and after we had it sliced, I ate about 1/4 of it... before we even left the store! I was really hungry and that bread was so delicious!

3. I runfess that whenever somebody post their race plans for the season or the year, I get a major case of FOMO. I am already signed up for 2 races in Spring and whenever I hear somebody talking about spring races I'm all "Where, how much is it?, can I still sign up? Agr! I can't afford to travel to Florida!"

4. Speaking of races, this year my sister and a co-worker will be joining me for the Hershey 10K ! and as excited as I am for running with them, I'm more excited for the post race breakfast!! I'm all about the food after the race.

5. Every morning, I have to find some small motivation to get out of bed into the cold. This week, it was the thought of my waffles with nutella. It's all about the nutella things, right?

Are you ready for the weekend?
did you Runfess yet?
Did you have your Nutella this morning?

  1. I runfess this is the first week EVER that I purchased Nutella. I hadn't turned my kids onto it because hello, no nutritional value + I doubted they'd dig hazelnut but my little one begged for it and of course, Loves it. I was all mixed up on days this week too. I was sure Tuesday was Wednesday. Wishful thinking...thanks for linking up!

    1. OmG! I can't believe you've never purchased nutella!! In mexico we used to eat something similar to it, as candy.

It's Monday and I am wishing it was Thursday already.

  3. OMG CAN I BE A TACO AMBASSADOR?! CAN THAT BE A THING?!

I sometimes feel a little jealous of ambassadors of BIG brands, like Nuun or Brooks or whatnot. Then I remember that I only want to rep a company I really support and like, which is why I only applied to be a Skirt Sports ambassador this year. I've tried for Pro Compression before but at the end of the day I don't know if an extra ambassadorship would make me happy. It might just make me feel pressured!

    1. Yes, let's make it a thing! Tacos are good fueling food, good recovery food, good food overall!

I just unfollowed a Pro-Compression socks ambassador yesterday, her amount of those socks made me feel inadequate, so I removed her from my instagram feed, I feel better now.

  6. As for being an ambassador for Nuun, honestly you are not missing out. I was one for two years and we didn't get any special perks.

  7. I would love to be an ambassador for tacos, like literally tell me where to sign up!

I am not an ambassador for any brands anymore. I used to be but I've decided I don't think it's worth it. The perks are usually not enough to compensate for the amount of work you have to do.

I work for an advertising agency and I always tell my clients not to expect bloggers to work for free. It's just not right. Putting together a reader base takes time and effort, maintaining that reader base takes time and effort and for a brand to expect that they can get in front of that audience for free or for one or two free products over 12 months makes me mad.

If a brand doesn't want to pay bloggers I tell them to invest in branding through another avenue and earn free mentions from bloggers by being an established brand with a good reputation and a great product.

Okay, stepping off my soap box now! :D

    1. Thank you for the information Kristina ! it is really enlightening to hear this, and the information!

I need to start a taco ambassador ship group, in which all we have to do is share what awesome tacos we are eating.
