Monday
I woke up to a beautiful sunny and humid day and did a 5K that I've been wanting to for the last 3 years. Recap here. My official time was 24:45. It was a good small local race.

I wanted to go to Harrisburg's Arts Fest, but Roger has an irrational fear of going to Harrisburg, so we settled on hiking on a state park. We went to Susquehannock State Park, and enjoyed a sweaty hike. I'll do a recap of that this week, and spoiler alert, I fell during the hike.

Thursday- My son had baseball, and the coaches have picked up this bad habit of making the games go longer than they are supposed to. They are not allowed to let the game go past 1.5 hours, because they are the junior league, but the coaches get too excited when they kids are scoring runs, and hitting balls, that they start innings even when they are a 2 minutes to 1.5 hours. Most games for the last month have gone 2 hours.

This bothers me on weekdays, because games start late as it is, so when my son is with me, we end up getting home past 8:00 and still having to eat dinner, do homework and his bath/shower. Which leaves me with a very grumpy boy at 7:00 am the next day. And on the days that I don't have him, this leaves me running at 8:00 pm after a really long day.

But I still headed out and did my 2 easy miles on Thursday.

On Saturday I woke up early to go to Zumba. It was a good class. I'm so sad to think that they will be closing soon.

We did this song at Zumba.. it's my new favorite!

Around 4:00 we headed out to Wildwood Park for our 3 miler. It was raining lightly, but we had put off running the entire day... and there we no more excuses to be made. We ran in the rain, and it felt so good! We also did some planks, because I feel left out of the plank challenge!

Sunday we headed out for an 8 mile run at Hershey. 2 miles in, we were really hot and sweating, Roger said we were changing it to 6 miles. It was a very humid and hot run, which is what we are training for, and now we know we need to drink more water.. and colder water.

Our Post Run Ice tea
After my run I went to the mall, because we are going to a concert on Tuesday and I wanted a shirt... there I found out that most stores at the mall only sell halves of shirts !! and they charge full shirt price for them! I'm getting old!

I left the mall feeling like Ana's Style clothing is no longer available, especially because The Limited closed at our mall.

Totals
Miles - 14.10
Zumba - 1

Today I'm linking up with Holly and Tricia for their Weekly Wrap post.

How was your week? how was your weekend? Have you see the half shirts at the mall? Where did the whole shirts go?

Comments

  1. Sorry to hear about your fall on the hike! I hope it wasn't a bad one!

Half shirts or sheer shirts seem to be all the rage these days. I'm usually not a fan of either style (on me).

    1. It wasn't bad, scrapped knee and elbow.

20 years ago, I was dying to own a belly shirt, now all I can think about is .. Where is the rest of the shirt?

  2. Whole shirts are apparently gone forever. So, now, in what I'm told is true old person style, every time I go shopping & find something I like, I buy it in every color & sometimes more than one of the same color, so if one wears out I have a backup.

  3. Haha! Does your husband have Harrisburgphobia? Is it a thing?

There will be no half shirts on this body. No one needs to see that.

    1. Wendy, I like that ... Harrisburphobia! He thinks there is too much violence downtown Harrisburg. He feels the same about Chicago, so obviously I'm not taking him with me if I ever go!

  4. Why does Roger have an irrational fear of going to Harrisburg? Is there a story behind that? Sorry to hear you fell on your hike but it sounds like you are doing okay since you had so many great workouts afterwards! That is frustrating that those baseball games have been going so long and pushing back everyone's schedule and temperament. GRRRRR!!!!! I've never heard that Zumba song before but it's very energetic! And yes - I am right there with you on the half shirts, along with the shorts that are so short they look like underwear. What gives, right????

    1. Emily,
Roger doesn't like the shootings in Harrisburg. I'm ok with it all, I work downtown Harrisburg and have not experienced anything of the sort.

I was ok, a scrape on my knee and elbow.

Roger and I were saying that girls shorts get shorter every year!! I just couldn't believe that all stores had belly shirts!

  5. What is his fear of Harrisburg????

Hahaha half shirts! I'm too old for that shit. But I did only wear a sports bra on my run this am. :)

    1. Megan, he thinks there could be a shooting at any time of the day... Which to me is irrational, I work close to downtown and a block from Allison Hill and we have no issues. He even refused to run along the river.

I was thinking that I'm a hypocrite ... I judge the belly shirts and I wear only my sport bras in the summer for runs ! But I wouldn't wear only a sports bra to a concert.

  7. I can't remember the last time I went to the mall. Now I know not to bother! Very nice plank picture. Congrats on that 5k finish time! I don't think they should let the little kids play ball so late either! Thanks for linking with us Ana.

  8. Ha I know the feeling on the half shirts and getting old. Goodness even when I was young I didn't wear stuff like this. It's sure a new age now. Congratulations on your great 5k that is an awesome pace and one I only dream about!
The planking pictures are sure contiguous !

  9. Congrats on your 5K race! That's an incredible time for such a hot, humid race. I've only broken 25 minutes a few times and that's in the winter months. My race times suffer in the summer months. I haven't been clothes shopping in forever, so I haven't paid attention to the latest trends. Looks like I'm not missing out on much.
