Weekly Wrap Hershey - Delayed Edition

Good Morning!

How is everybody doing today? Congratulations to those of you who raced this weekend!! Special Shout out to Holly (Chicago Marathon) , Emily and Chaitali (Army 10 miler)! You ladies are an inspiration and cause for some major FOMO!

Thank you  Holly and Tricia for hosting the Weekly Wrap post! Linking up with these super awesome ladies today.

Let's get to the happenings of last week

Running
Monday - 3 easy miles
Thursday - 2 tempo mile
Friday- 6 Tempo Miles
Sunday - 8 easy long run miles

I know I did some core and weights, but I don't remember what days. Yes, it was that kind of week!

The start of fall, the lack of daylight and the cold make me really tired. And to add to that, my office last week was having a live audit plus, I needed to turn in 8 file audits. So Monday, I wanted to go home and go to bed, not run 3 miles. Same for Friday. I woke up during both runs.

Friday we even did the Megan- Political Signs fartlek and ran as fast as we could past all political signs. Camp Hill is now a completely mix bag of Clinton, The Orange Clown and Johnson signs.

On Saturday we did something rare for us... We tool what we called a "Chill Day" NO running, no weights, no hiking, just a day to chill. We went to breakfast, we went to see Girl On The Train (I love Emily Blunt in it), we went to lunch, we even did some light Christmas Shopping! Macy's had the cutest, tiniest little girl running shorts!! They were the size of one of my legs!

I got new sunglasses and had Roger model them for me.

This was Rogers "There is Chocolate Cake at the finish line" Face, he is also smiling with his eyes

Sunday was our Hershey Half dress rehearsal, but I did it in the wrong weather conditions. It's supposed to be a bit colder next Sunday. But I did figure out that the sports bra I was planning to wear, is what chaffed by boob terribly at my last Half. So, I will be switching that out!

That's it! Hershey Half is on Sunday, Kids Run is on Saturday, we are ready !

Tell me about your week!!

Did you Start your Christmas shopping yet?
Did you race this weekend?
Do you have Race Dress Rehearsals ?
Ever felt so tired, like you could just go home and sleep the rest of the day?
When did you take your last Chill day?

  1. I love the idea of the political sign fartleks. There are a ton of signs out there and when I run with the group in the city, I don't know who half of the signs are for since they are for school boards or mayor.

We have lots here too, it seems that they are popping all over the place now.

  3. I did not start Christmas shopping yet! I need to get on that! Love the new sunglasses. You have that face that can wear funky sunglasses. :) Okay here is my new political workout for signs: Trump- run as fast as you can past the sexual predator, Johnson- smoke a blunt, Clinton- check your email! :)

    1. I am late with Christmas shopping, my family is so big, that it takes me a while!

You can totally pull funky sunglasses too! You just have to keep repeating to yourself that you are rocking them! and eventually you forget they are bright pink!

ja ja ja!! I'm going to tell Roger, he is going to LOve it!! One must always run as fast as possible from Sexual predators!

  4. I've actually never done a race dress rehearsal wearing what I planned to race in, but it's such a good idea! I haven't started Xmas shopping....I just finally put up some fall decorations, I can't handle Xmas!

    1. Wearing everything together is perfect! and if you do it a week before, you guarantee that it will all get washed before the race!

Christmas shopping in December stresses me out a little! I prefer to be at home baking cookies on December than anywhere near a mall.

  6. I think my last chill day was like, in July. So I am oh so due for one of those. I think I can squeeze one in on the calendar in NOVEMBER. It's funny, but it's not funny.

I've never done a dress rehearsal, but maybe should. I've been okay these last few years, but my first ever marathon, it was raining & I had the worst boob // bra chaffing. I actually still have a scar from it which is crazy.

Boob chaffing is AWFUL!! I have a scar now too!

  10. Thank you so much for the shout-out, Ana!!! Really appreciate it!!! I love the idea of the political signs fartlek - that is super clever. A chill day sounds AMAZING. I want to do one of those, too! I haven't read The Girl On the Train but I've heard good things about the movie. Emily Blunt is incredible. Those tiny little shorts are adorable! And I am ALL about dress rehearsals. The more you can replicate actual race-day conditions in practice, the better!!! Boob chafage is no good so I'm glad you were able to identify that problematic sports bra in advance and switch it out!

    1. Emily,

as I was running Sunday Morning, I was thinking of you ladies running your races!

The movie is really good! Emily Blunt is very talented!

The political signs farlek was Megan's idea, can't take credit for her awesomeness.

  11. Karen,

I do not know how you do it!! But, when I do run in the morning, I have more energy for the day than on the days I don't run.

I don't know how people manage it!

You are amazing! I have never run 35 miles in one week!! Way to go!!

  12. Okay, fartleking past Trump signs?! BRILLIANT.

During the BDR Marathon last December there was a Trump sign around mile 19 and my friend, who had come to bring me Coke and snacks, was like "does that make you want to run faster?" And I was like "YES BUT I CAN'T AAAAHHHHH" lol!!

  13. Oh lordy I hardly ever even start my Christmas shopping until November, late late Nov! I know I really should plan more! I did not race but I was on the edge of my seat cheering on Holly and the other girls in Chicago! That app was wonderful!

  14. I'm not a fan of shopping and don't want to even think about Christmas shopping! I do test out my under layers deciding which panties, bra and socks to where. The rest is not decided until sometimes the DAY OF. I adore the idea of the political sign fartlek run! I finally read Girl on the Train while on my Chicago trip, so now I've got to see the movie. Thanks for linking, Ana! Good luck at your half (which I think you've already run!).
