Friday Five - Randoms

Good Morning Virtual Friends!! How is everybody doing today? I hope your morning is off to a great start with hot coffee, tea or a beverage of your choice!

I had to help out at the job fair this morning, so my socializing is done for the rest of the month! I've talked to people about their dogs, their children, their second job, their weekend plans and their shopping habits. Fun stuff!

This week I'm bringing you the Five Random Things Friday

1. James Corden Performs with the Backstreet Boys- Back in 1999 I had a thing for boy bands, no shame! This made me laugh, because I agree with Mr. Corden, Boy bands need to have synchronized dancing and matching outfits!

2. My son only has 2 more soccer practices and 2 games, then we are free on weekends!! Until he wants to start another sport.

3. National Taco day was sometime this week, and guess what I have not had to eat once this week? Tacos!! how is that possible? There has been simply no time to stop and make tacos, but the weekend is just starting.

Soft Carne asada tacos for Sure!!

4. I am reading a book on Bob Fosse and it has me inspired to watch the Movies Chicago and Cabaret this weekend. It has been a while since I danced to the Chicago movie. I tried learning the All That Jazz choreography in college, I was terrible at it, but in my mind I was Velma Kelly. #velmakellyismypratonus

5. I have Monday off, and although I don's support Columbus Day celebrations, I will enjoy the day off wit my son and Roger at our annual visit to the Corn Maze. We will finally get our annual Apple Cider Donut fix! We are super excited!

Tell me about you!
Did you have tacos this week?
What was your favorite movie in College?
Did you get your pumpkins yet?
Do you have a favorite Boy band?
Are you visiting a Corn Maze this month?

  1. We are like the same person. First of all, Chicago and Cabaret are two of my favorite shows. I love Fosse's dance style. When I was in college, I learned the choreography to the Hot Honey Rag! Is the book you are reading new? I was listening to On Point on NPR a couple weeks ago and they interviewed a Fosse biographer. I actually didn't know very much about Fosse and now only know a little bit because they didn't do a deep dive. What's the most interesting thing you learned so far?

I loved NSYNC back in the day! I saw them in concert at Hershey during the summer between HS and college. I didn't have anyone to go with so my boyfriend and his friend actually dropped me off and waited for me in the parking lot! What nice guys!

    1. I LOVE Chicago!! I used to try to learn all the choreography for the songs, but I'm not a trained dance, so of course I sucked.

The book is from 2013, I was desperate for something to listen at work, so I downloaded that book, thinking it would be short, but it was not. But it is very interesting! Bob Fosee was very self conscious of his appearance, and didn't think he was a good dancer. He also was a manwhore and had lots of mistresses... I don't know if that is a new fact. But I used to think he was gay! then I thought how awful I am for just assuming! I'm about half way through it now.

I liked Nsync back in the day too! They dropped you off and waited in the parking lot? That's nice of them! Did you have fun ?

    2. I think I had fun! It was so long ago I barely remember. I'm not a trained dancer either I just like to try! I doubt fosse being man whore is new info but I didn't know that until I heard the podcast.

    3. Ja ja!! sorry ! that is the one thing that the book keeps repeating! let's see... he spent a lot of time in strip clubs/ burlesque clubs because that is where he was performing. And he felt that affected him emotionally.

  2. I wasn't a giant boy band fan but I did see NSync in concert once and enjoyed it immensely :) I somehow missed that it was National Taco Day, and I love tacos! I clearly need to make up for that. I didn't even realize that Monday was Columbus Day. You can tell that I sadly do not get it off.

  5. I don't know if anyone actually "celebrates" Columbus day..haha, but it is a day off work. We don't have school Monday but I have to go to a training. I bet you are looking forward to some free weekends! I'm hoping for a few myself but I don't think that will happen till November. Have a good one Ana!
