I have seen several bloggers do this type of post before, this is my attempt at it. Currently  Watching : The Office Roger and I pick a show to watch from beginning to end, we both have to agree on it. We both agreed on The Office and so far it has been a good choice. And yes, I have my own Office funny stories to share... but not here. Reading : Hunger by Roxane Gay  What an amazing book! Roxane Gay talks about her personal issues with her weight and trauma in a very moving and realistic way. It is easily one of the most beautiful and thought provoking books I have read this year. I am going to go buy her other book Bad Feminist this weekend.  Listening to : Anything by J Balvin. I like his smooth voice and the beats he brings to his reageton music. His song Mi Gente from his album Vibras has had a spot on my playlists for the last year, and it hasn't gotten old yet.  Missing : My son.  He is away for vacation with his Dad, and I am counting the

Week In Review - The Longest Week

Image
Happy Sunday! How has this week treated you? Mine felt like the longest week ever, aside from the days being really long, the work seemed to be never ending.  Running  The heat was relentless this week, in attempts to survive it, I ran later in the day. Covering intervals on Tuesday, well more like covered in sweat while running.  Weights after running My brain doesn't remember what I did on Wednesday... I went to a class with Denise for some dancing and did 4 miles after. Just lazy 4 miles.  My face after eating a bug I ran a small 5K on Saturday and won my age group. It was a very small race, and I brought home an Amazon gift card.  My long run on Sunday was split up and I ran 3.70 miles of trail with Roger at Boyds Big Tree and 5.3 on my own at Hershey.  Mothering I didn't do any mothering this week, my son was away for the week with his dad for vacation. Somedays were really difficult to deal with, but I kept pushing through. It's t

Summer Is HERE!! Friday Five

Happy Friday! how are you today? How is your day going? Summer is here! the stickiest and stinkiest season for me when it comes to running. I'm Linking up with the Friday five 2.0 ladies at  Fairytales and Fitness  and  Running on Happy  . Today, I want to talk my summer running essentials, for before, during and after running.  1. Sunscreen- Sunburn is no joke, and I take my sunblock very seriously. Not that it helps much, my runner tan game is super strong all year long.  2. Bug Spray - It's tick season in PA, and ticks bring Lyme disease. Ticks will not keep me inside, neither do mosquitos. This requires two different bug sprays, but I'm ok with that.  3. Facial moisturizer- The sun is always there, and my face is the closest to it... and I still have to make money from it, so I need to protect it. By the way, I learned from my sister to not wear sun on my forehead if I'm wearing a hat, to prevent moisturizer sweat from my eyes.  4. Wipes

Week In Review - Mexico for the Win!!

Image
Happy Sunday! I hope you are having a wonderful Day!  It has been a very accomplished Sunday here. Today, Mexico played Germany in the World Cup, and in case I haven't mentioned it, Roger was born in Germany and I was born in Mexico... it was a tense game, but Mexico pulled through and won the game!!  Congratulations to the Selecion Mexicana! What an amazing game!!  Running  This week we ran intervals, and the only thing I remember about that day is Roger's confused math.  Roger: We need to do 1 mile warm up, 8x .25 and 1 mile cool down for a total of 3 miles.  Me: that's over 4 miles Roger: No, it's not. You are not listening to what I said. One mile warm up + 8x .25 and 1 mile cool down. Do Not go over 3 miles.  Me: Yes, I hear you. That's over 4 miles.  Roger: No, it's 3. How many .25s is there in a mile?  Me: there is 4 .25s in a mile.  Roger: No, there is 8.  Me: ...  Roger : there is 8 Me: ...  Roger: ...  Me: You suck at math. How m

Happy Tuesday! It's Show Us Your Book Day!  Today I'm linking up with  Jana  and  Steph  for Show Us Your Books. Simon Vs The Homosapien Agenda by Becky Albertalli I saw the trailer for the movie Love, Simon and started to wonder if it was a book, after some research I found the book. I really enjoy reading books before watching the movie.  I really liked this book, it was very cute and it made me cry at the end. It had all the YA angst that I enjoy. Somewhere in the middle it got a little slow, but I kept reading because I really wanted to know if Simon and Blue would finally get together. Spoiler alert, the did and it was awesome! The Dinner by Herman Koch I picked this book at random at the library as my car audiobook. And I was very glad that it was a car book, because I would not have kept reading if I had it as a real book. The writing was very well done, and strong, hence the book being an international best seller. But the book made me

Week In Review - Winning

Happy Sunday! I hope the weekend was wonderful and restful for you!  My week was packed with so many things, I'm not sure which way the world is spinning. The end of baseball season and the beginning of summer have created a lot of work for this Mother!  Running  My scheduled got a little strange this week, because of summer schedule starting, and I didn't run as much as I should have, but still got in some quality runs.  Roger says we are training for the Harrisburg Mile, and we ran a test mile on Wednesday. It hurt... right after we did intervals, that hurt even more.  Since we ran on Global running day, we had to take pictures.  He also made me do this leg swings the following day...  Monday - 3 easy miles Wednesday - 6 miles with intervals and a mile test Sunday - 4 miles tempo Mothering  My son spent a couple of days with my family to start off his summer vacation. He came to see me for lunch and then took off to spend the night at grandma
