Friday Five - Welcome to Spring!
Happy Friday! How was your week? Mine has been really busy, I am so happy it's Friday!
I'm Linking up with the Friday five 2.0 ladies at Fairytales and Fitness and Running on Happy .
3. This Peanut Butter chocolate crumb cake!! When I was in High School, our piano teacher used to make us a peanut butter chocolate crumb cake after our piano recitals... whether we were amazing, or completely messed up Prelude in C Major, the crumb cake was amazing!! Years after I had graduated, I emailed her to tell her that her crumb cake was one of the most amazing food I had tasted. She emailed me the recipe. We made it on the snow day, and it still tasted as amazing as I remember it.
4. Doctor Who- My son and I started watching Doctor Who again! I binged watch this show in 2012 and LOVED it! My son was too little at the time to watch it with me, but we are not starting it again. I know he is a whinny actor, but my favorite is Doctor is Christopher Eccleston.
5. Spring Break- My son's spring break starts next week, and I'm excited for those few days of rest. I am looking forward to our breakfast and lunch plans.
How was your week?
Did you get snow?
Have you been sledding ?
Did you ever watch Doctor Who?
I'm just going to tell you 5 random things about this week.
1. The Snow- We had a surprise snow storm on the first day of spring! I know many around here were not fans of the snow, but personally I loved it! My son had off from school, my office closed and we enjoyed sleeping in.
2. Sledding - I had never gone sledding in my life! It sounded and looked terrifying, but the hill we were doing looked pretty steep and I wanted to test it before I sent my son down on it. It was hilarious! I fell out of the made up sled, and rolled right back in and kept going. I couldn't stop laughing.

I couldn't believe that we got snow this week too! I didn't mind as it allowed me to work from home and really the roads were just fine. Just some prettiness on the lawns.
ReplyDeleteHow much snow did you get ? We had about 12 inches here, and it looked like a winter wonderland. We enjoyed it so much! it's almost all melted now.
DeleteWe got snow too. I don't mind it too much since I can work remotely if needed. I hate being out driving in the snow. That cake sounds amazing!
ReplyDeleteI don't like driving on the snow either! But I love it when it snows during the week, because it gives me an excuse to take off from work without feeling guilty.
DeleteI am happy to report no snow. :) So sick of snow. There's still snow on the ground from the first 3 storms, but hopefully it will melt soon.
ReplyDeleteI used to love sledding as a kid -- haven't done it as an adult.
Enjoy your spring break!
Our snow is almost gone, it has been sunny and that has melted everything already.
DeleteWe are going to buy a real sled for next winter.
Thank you!
We got snow as well. Enjoy the break with your son!
ReplyDeleteThanks! hopefully this s the last snow!
DeleteI have to admit I was a tad jealous of your snow! I've never heard of that crumb cake but it looks amazing! We may have to recruit you to make it for a race weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have every right to be jealous! it was amazing! it came, it snowed and now it's almost all melted. We enjoyed the snow day and the delay.
DeleteYes! I will make it for any race weekend.
We had snow too and I was off on Wednesday! It was a nice break. Glad you had a good time with your son. That PB chocolate crumb cake sounds delicious!
ReplyDeletesnow days in the middle of the week are amazing!! and unexpected surprise.
DeleteHold up! You never went sledding before? Oh my gosh!
ReplyDeleteCare to share that recipe?
No, I had never. The thought of going on a piece of plastic down a hill terrified me. but it is a lot of fun, I will likely do it again.
DeleteI'll share the recipe in the future.. I promise.
We got a few fast inches of snow last Saturday, but most of it was gone by Sunday afternoon. We're supposed to be getting some tomorrow, though.....and I'm DONE with winter.
ReplyDeleteSpring!! Where are you ? We need you here!!
DeleteYou never went sledding!? We did all the time growing up. Our elem. school had a huge hill and my dad would take us over. The whole town would be there. Where did you take your son sledding? I can't wait for Spring Break! Thurs-Mon woooohoooo.
ReplyDeleteNo, it really scared me before. I don't know why. I don't like snow touching me, so that was a huge reason why.
DeleteWe went right around my place, there is this huge hills and we had them all to ourselves.
Thursday to Monday only? Why so short? I'm not even going to tell you how long ours is.
It seems like so many people are talking about the snow everywhere - isn't it SPRING already?!
ReplyDeleteYes, a spring snowstorm. That's how We roll in Pennsylvania.. snow whenever the weather feels like it.
