So, What Happened Yesterday?

Yesterday after seeing all the coverage of the Vice Presidential Debate, I was a annoyed and tired at the constant attacks on Mexican Immigrants by the Republican Party Presidential and VP Candidates. So I did a post on validating why my family and I are really great people who, regardless of what any republican say, are harder working and better citizens than the Orange man running for President. Then I deleted it. I deleted it, because I was mad. I was mad that I had to explain to myself again why this clowns are not bothering me. But they were bothering me, and I was trying to validate my family. But We don't need validation, we don't need to explain to anybody why we are here and how hard we work. We already know that.

So Many thoughts!!

I received a message from Megan that completely turned my day around. She reminded me that Donald Trump Does not represent the entire country. And that got me thinking that his hatred, or that of his followers doesn't matter to me. There is lots of others who know and understand that this man and his hatred are not what this country stands for. Thank you Megan!!

Even if he does win the election, I'm not leaving. I can't let an orange bully and his friends make me leave the place I have called my home for almost 20 years. The place where I work, the place where I'm raising my son. So Bring it ON!

I'm standing my ground, and I will not continue to acknowledge Trump, or his supporters. They don't deserve my time.

Thank you Ali for stopping to make a comment too!

  1. GO GIRL!!! I felt your pain in your writing and it made me sad that you felt that way. Yet I UNDERSTAND why you felt that way. Obviously I don't understand entirely because while Trump is a misogynist, I feel like he has attacked other groups much more hatefully than he has attacked women. But I hear you, and I get it. I'm glad I helped turn your day around and it FREAKING SUCKS that a presidential candidate could make someone feel so crappy. Trump is a horrible representation of America.

I listened to the newest episode of Slate's Trumpcast this morning and the guest described the VP debate as Pence gaslighting all of America. "Trump didn't say that" is all he kept saying yet Trump DID SAY all the things Kaine said he said!

    1. THIS SO MUCH. Gas lighting is EXACTLY what he did; I guess not everyone is good at picking that out, since that usually happens to women, but it's EXACTLY what's being done!

  2. I'm with you. This election season has sucked more than normal and for a lot of us, Donald Trump and his supporters represent a very real threat to our safety :( I'm certainly not leaving and hopefully most people understand the vibrant role that immigrants play in our society.

  3. I horrified by what's going on in this election, and I feel threatened but I can hide my minority-status easily. Trump has a LOT of neo-Nazis in his supporters and they're not scared to hide their anti-Semitism, but at least I can blend in. I can't imagine how people of color and Hispanics and Latinos are feeling right now. I hope your life and your families' lives haven't personally been affected - I hope you're not facing an increase in racism or anything like that.

I'm so glad you've resolved to rise above and ignore Trump. He literally deserves none of our time or thoughts. When I need a pick-me-up, I look at fivethirtyeight.com or https://electionbettingodds.com! Clinton is WELL in the lead as long as people actually go and vote!!

  4. In my opinion if it seems like a no win for YOU you have to think about AMERICA and what is nest for everyone. I could never look so many of my friends (Mexican American, Lgbtq, African Americanot, Muslim, or jewish) if I didn't vote for hrc because a vote for anyone but her is a vote for trump. One of my good friendstuff told me he doesn't care who wins because his life won't change. I told him of courge your life won't change you ate a white male! Think about your wife and your friends whosee lives will change. He saw my pune of view but I don't know if I changed his mind.
