Friday Five Randoms

Good Morning World! How is everybody doing today?

Here at trying to finish some audits... and trying to wake up, hopefully I finish my audits before I wake up!

Today I'm bringing you Five Friday Favorites for this week

1. Fresh Air: Not A Feminist ? Caitlin Moran asks, Why Not? First off, Terri Gross has the voice of an supremely intelligent angel, with great questions for her guest. Even thought this interview is old, I enjoyed it. Caitlin Moran, the author of the hilarious book How To Be A Woman, talks about being a feminist, and how as women, we are automatically a Feminist. If you haven't read her book, check it out! It is funny, thoughtful, and makes excellent points.

2. Fobia: Hoy Tengo Miedo. I am currently in love with the voice of the lead singer of this band.

3. Hecho En Mexico- In 2012 this beautiful film/ documentary/ musical was released about Mexico. I've seen it 3 times, and love it! I had forgotten almost all about it, when this song from the soundtrack came on my phone the other day. It reminded me of the magic of this film. If anybody ever wants a real look at Mexico, check out this film. It is magical, full of beautiful music, stunning views of Mexico and its people, places and amazing resilience. Last I checked, this film was on Netflix.

4. This Hilarious quiz on Buzzfeed... I'll give you one answer. Intercourse is Real! and it's a beautiful town with lots to eat and do!

5. This Cartoon feels like it was made for me.

Are you a Feminist?
What are some funny names of towns around you?
Why do you read?
Do you watch Foreign films?

Although I've never been there, I am well aware of that town in PA. There are some oddly named towns down that way, no?

  3. The definition of a feminist is someone who believe men and woman are equal. Women who say they aren't feminists are probably confused about what the term means. It doesn't mean women are better than men. It doesn't mean we all need to burn our bras. It doesn't mean you are pro choice. It simply means men and women are equal.

Can you tell I get annoyed when people don't understand the definition of a feminist??? :)

I LOVE TERRI GROSS! Did you know I met her??? It was one of the best days of my life!!!!

I love her voice and I also love Martha Stewart's voice for some reason. A couple years ago Terry interviewed Martha and I posted on FB that it was "an orgasm for my ears". This was back before Paul was on FB, so he didn't see the post. Whren he got home from work I said, "Paul guess what!!! Terry Gross interviewed Martha Steward today!!!" Paul replies, "Wow, that was probably an orgasm for your ears."

WE WERE MEANT FOR EACH OTHER.

You met Terry Gross!? that's amazing! I'm jealous!

I used to watch the Martha Stewart show when my son was a newborn, she has a soothing voice and presence.

You guys are made for each other! that is way cool!!

  4. I don't read much any more as I have a hard time focusing and do a lot more zapping. Having said that, I read 4 books over the past 2 weeks on vacation. It felt so good.

  5. I'm a proud feminist, and one of my biggest sources of pride is that my husband now calls himself a feminist and acts on it, too. I think many women still don't like the word because they don't understand it, and the stigma still exists, but I have hope for our future because many of my students call themselves feminists, too!
